Gmail Icon Notification

Should the stock gmail shortcut icon show how many unread gmail messages I have when using Sense UI? I thought it did. I've been using PandaHome for so long with the "Unread Gmail Notification" app that I can't remember whether or not I need the "Unread" app with Sense.

The stock icon tells you how many unread e-mails you have. You can dump the app, if you want.

That's what I thought, but it's not working. My icon isn't showing how many unread gmail messages I have. Do I need to change my settings anywhere?

The stock app does not tell you how many unread items you have with Sense. You do need Gmail Unread Count.

I guess I got the gmail icon mixed up with the stock SMS icon, which does show the number of unread messages. Thanks for the reply.
