This morning as I always do I went to retrieve my phone from charge and the LG logo you see when you turn on the phone was flashing. I unpluged the phone and it will not power up. Waited and came back (thinking it was in some hey I just finished charging , wait a min. mode) but it still would not come on. Pulled the batt. and reinstalled no help. Plugged it back into the charger and the same thing, flashing logo, won't boot.

Anyone have any ideas on this?

Thanks

Try going into the stock recovery and then plugging in the charger. To get into the stock recovery: Pull battery. Hold power button for 30 sec to clear the phone. Hold home + volume down button, then power button (All at the same time) until you see your android recovery screen. Then plug phone into charger for 30min. Unplug charger, then select reboot system. Once rebooted finish charging.
If this doesn't work then you could have a defective battery, cable, or wall plug end.

Nothing ..not easy to hit all three buttons at the same time but after several tries no power up, recovery screen or anything but a blank screen.
You don't have to hit them all at the same time. Hold home and vol down then press power (use your chin if needed) and hold power until you see the LG logo vanish (may need to point the screen at a mirror if using chin).

Well:

I was just offering a suggestion and since you never like any of my suggestions, please click on my name and add me to your ignore list that way I won't bother you with any of my suggestions in the future.
Damn talk about sensitive ..I just make a comment, wasn't like I hacked off your head or anything. I tried it and it didn't work ..so what if I don't like your subjection (and I never said I didn't), big deal it's just a forum ..lighten up.:D

Hi Andy thank you I got the new phone and is working good but talking with VM people was crazy. I will go to the sub forum because I need to learn a lot .thanks again

Tried a new charger and a new battery and it still does the same thing, flashing LG logo and will not reset per. the 3 finger trick.

Looks like I am going to have to call, none of the suggestions here worked (and I didn't say I don't like the suggestions ..they just didn't help) and I hate talking to their support. , half seem to be idiots and the other half "thinks" they understand English.

It wasn't directed at you sundance, if you notice I quoted the person it was directed.

VM customer service is really getting bad. I have seen their ads on TV so they are selling the S out of there service but not building the support to support the volume of customers. I email them about this problem and got a auto response saying the call volume was high and it might be 48 hours before they respond ...that was over a week ago. I tried calling and all I get is a busy signal. So once again I am paying for a phone I can't use.

Does anyone have a support number other than the 888-322-1122 number, it's been busy for days.

sundance call again and ask to talk with a supervisor and tell him that your friend had the same problem that you need a new phone . tell him that you know about the big problem VM has with LG and the LG Optimus V phone tell them that I told you that the problem with the serial numbers was fixed ( because that was the reason that a lot of phones new and old were having that problem) be mean when you talk to them that is what I did after almost two week without my phone.

I forgot Hi all !

What a fun thread.

I know this is a little old but I'm currently having the same problem as OP (super dead battery, lg just flashing). I too, was unable to make my phone boot into recovery at first, so I took out my battery, plugged my phone in (says 'battery required' or whatever) then hold down all three buttons (home, volume down, power) and CONTINUE to hold them down as you put your battery back in, and KEEP holding them until it successfully boots into recovery.

Aaaand just so there's no confusion, I sat on my bed, placed my phone on the non-volume-rocker-side and pressed all three buttons with my left hand (thumb on home, index on volume and ring on power..) while stabilizing the phone with my feet and putting the battery in with my right hand. Or, find a friend. =P

Hopefully this helps whoever else might come across this! Still don't know what's wrong with my phone but at least I can reflash now.
