Help How to make Volume buttons to wake up the screen.

I use the Power button on Razr Maxx to end my calls quickly. This is a vital funcionality for my needs.

Therefore I'd like to be able to use Volume up/down buttons to wake up the screen during a lengthy call, instead of the Power button (which also would end the call).

Pressing Volume button to wake up was how my original Droid used to do it, but I so far I wasn't able to find a similar setting on Razr Maxx.

Any advice?

If it's not possible to use Volume button to wake up, what else can I do? I need to be able to wake up the phone during the call without hanging up on people.

No. My Maxx doesn't wake up when I press volume buttons.

I just got this phone two days ago, maybe it's defective?
Just occurred to me that when I hang up a call my screen comes on regardless because I just pressed the power button.
Do you have your in-pocket detection setting enabled? This has screwed up some other folks. I leave mine unchecked.

Hi
I have my new Razr Maxx now for a few days, and have the same problem when my phone is on a table and i am using speaker phone or in the car in a dock talking via bluetooth, the screen shuts off, so if i want to look up a message or anything else,I have to disconnect the caller by pressing the power button.
I dont see yet any easy way, other to then installing a 3rd party app which must them drain allot of power.
Any help please?

I don't know about changing the phone so the volume control button wakes the phone up, but I have found out an overall fix. On your Motorola Droid Razr (mine is using Android 4.0 ICS), go to settings, then go to accesibility. There, you will find a checkbox that wehn marked, ends a call whenever you press the power button. Uncheck it. That way, when you're on speaker while in a call, and the screen turns black, you can press the power button so the screen turns back on without ending the call. I hope this helps.
