Who at google/HTC said 'yeh this sound is good for the camera' <_<
It sounds like it's not complete and the first time I took a picture it made me jump!
I'm rooted so I removed the sound so I don't have to mute. Odd that there isn't an option to disable the sound though.
Actually, this is a very plausible reason for it. Many Asian companies have had the shutter sound on camera phones to be an almost permanent feature to attempt to stop 'unsolicited' shots from been taken and since HTC is one of those companies I'm not surprised at all that removing the shutter sound isn't in the camera options.
Still, it's an annoyance that you do have to put the phone on mute in order to get rid of the shutter sound.
I'm not trying to take covert shots, but I'd like to be able to take pictures during quiet moments without everyone turning and looking at me (for example for those who don't believe me: inside of a church during a wedding)
Where do I find the app to mute the camera sounds?
Also why the hell can't I find Home++ that everyone keeps talking about.
I believe there was such a problem with covert "upskirt" cellphone pics on subways in Japan that muting the shutter was made illegal at the manufacturing level a couple years ago.
