Hello,

I have a Google Calendar account that I log into with my yahoo email address. On this calendar I also can view my calendars of other family members.

The problem I am having is that I had to create a google account when I bought the phone. However, I can't seem to get my non-google calendar to show up on the phone.

I have tried using my new google account to "friend" my non-google calendar account but it's still not showing up.

Any ideas?

Hmmm. If you mark the calendar as shareable in the Google acct with the yahoo address, you should be able to subscribe to it with the gmail google account, and that should be then available to sync with Android. Is that what you mean when you say that you "friended" the account?

Yes, that is what I meant. But that is not happening. On my phone I can only see the gmail calendar account...not any of the others that are shared with that account.

I'm not exactly sure if this is what you're looking for, but this link tells you how to sync them together... Yahoo calendar sync with Google Calendar? - Calendar Help

I've done this and it works - with one exception. The Yahoo calendar doesn't auto sync with Google calendar. I synchronized both calendars but the Yahoo Calendar does not update and display newly created Google events unless you click the "Reload Calendar" button on Yahoo. Simply refreshing the page or navigating away and back does not reload the calendar.

I contacted Yahoo customer support to ask if there was a way to have it automatically sync with a subscribed calendar, and here was their response:

Thank you for writing to Yahoo! Calendar.

I understand you would like Yahoo! Calendar to automatically refresh
other connected calendars at a regular interval. I am happy to assist
you with this concern.

At the moment, the feature you are requesting is not available. However,
we are always looking for ways to make Yahoo! Calendar more useful to
our users, and we will be sure to keep your concern in mind as we
continue to make improvements to our service.

It is through your comments and feedback that we are able to continue to make improvements. Thank you again for contacting Yahoo! Calendar.

Basically, no - we don't do that....

I was able to get this to work. Here is what I did.

While logged into your yahoo address Google account, go to Google Calendar. Click "settings". Click "Calendars". For any of the calendars that you want to share, under "Sharing", click "Share this calendar".

At the next screen, at the "share with specific people", enter the gmail account email address, and change the permissions settings to "make changes and manage sharing". Click "save".

This should automatically add the calendar to the gmail address account. Just to be sure, you can log out of the yahoo address google account, log in with the gmail account, and go to the Calendar. (It also sends an email to the gmail address to let you know that this has happened.)

To get it on the phone, from home, go to settings>Data synchronization>Google. Turn the calendar off by unchecking, then turn it back on by checking again. It should do a complete resync, and you should see the calendar from the Yahoo email address Google account in your calendar.
