currently did the CWM rollback from the latest update on the marquee which was unrootable.after doing so i went back in recovery and restored what i had which was the sprint on my boost mobile.the sprint offers what boost mobile's LG Marquee advertised, the wifi hotspot/tether.
my questions is,can i keep this and run it on my phone?or do i have to go back to boost gui?and is there a way to set up my boost the same as the sprint marquee with the hotspot and tether without an app?

The best way I have seen to tether to my marquee is the wireless tether app. There was some issues with this app on my marquee but I downloaded an older version from the google code site here: http://code.google.com/p/android-wi...etail?name=wireless_tether_2_0_7.apk&can=2&q= it shows an error regarding ad hoc but I can connect to it with my netbook and desktop no problem. Hope this helps.
Other than using an app there seems to be no way of creating a hotspot on the boost version. However there is a wired tether that is includes in rom toolbox.

It's built in both ctmod and mb for boost

(This may seem like a lot of work but really it is just detail.. It is not hard especially if you use the shortcut mentioned below.)
I am on Boost and use the built-in Tether that is in the ROM... (CTMod or MBv2, both have this option.) It works better than the Tether App from th e market because it supports more devices. With the market app I could not connect my WiFi Enabled TV or PS3.. With the built-in Tether I can connect them. All you have to do is go into Setting>Wireless & Network Settings>Tethering and Portable Hotspots> and enable hotspot. Now in the event you get the 6x (I cannot remember if it is 63, 65, or 67) Error Scroll down to the last image...

If you are receiving an error than you will need to go into your LG Hidden Menu which can be done by creating an activity through either an option in the launcher you are using by long pressing your home screen and create activity or by using AnyCut (Free Market App used to make shortcuts, if you use GO Launcher you will have to use this app to create a new activity shortcut.) then when creating the activity you will scroll down until you see LG Hidden Menu (The first one, there may be 3.)Now that you can access your LG Hidden Menu, go to Data>Settings>DUN NAI> and select NO. Then retry the hotspot. (Note: You may need to select NO each time you reboot since I do not believe the setting sticks.) Also if you do not want to make a shortcut for later use you can always go to the phones original stock dialer and enter ##LGSERVICEMENU (##5473784236368) You will need your MSL to enter the LG Hidden Menu by the way. In order to get the MSL you can:
Download aLogcat (free) from market. Open it and start the log. Hit the "home" button on the phone and go to dialer and enter ##3282# then hit "advanced" hit "view". Then hit the back button on your phone and go to "data profile" hit "edit" and enter 000000. It will say it is wrong, hold the home button and switch back to aLogcat and pause it. Hit "filter" and type msl. It should show a 6 Digit Code. That is your Service Code / MSL. You will only need to find the MSL once then as long as you remember it or write it down you can uninstall aLogcat.
