Help XEJC5 is Out!!!

The lock button is definetly much Mich better!

I reported the same thing for JC4 but after about a day it started working patchy again, responsive 1 time, not so responsive the next...

SamsungFirmware reported the following on twitter: "I7500XEJC5 out. (android 1.6)(only a small bug fix.)" If improved Russian locale is all that changed, not much point upgrading... unless you want a fast(er) phone for a day.

There must be a changelog for these FWs somewhere. I have no idea what changed from JB2 to JC4 and JC5 but I know is that same problems are present in all 3.

I just got JC5 up, everything seems good. Again some paid apps in the market might not show up for you with this firmware (until I think samsung reports the firmware version to google).

The drawer seems more responsive on this one as well as the home screen, overall it seems like there is a bit less delay when doing tasks (i don't know if it's just me).

Lock button working fine so far.

I have C4 and for some reason it isn't searching my contacts when i try to send a text and start typing a name into the box. so i am having to open the contacts list and choose mobile text to send a text to someone. trying to send a text to multiple people, then, is a bit of a hassle. i've only had it for a day. so i am happy to upgrade. i will post thoughts.

do you have the contacts numbers listed as "mobile" numbers? sms application ignores "home" numbers.

Well, what would you rather have; no news and no updates until they do all their testing and release a final 1.6 build god knows when or have them "leak" incremental internal builds every week or two? I'd certainly go with the later, although it'd be nice to have a changelog.

It'd be much better of course if they had something like the GAOSP project, with a changelog, to-do list, bug reports, feedback, etc so you'd actually have an idea of their progress and when you might see the features you want implemented. That is it seems just too much to hope for. So much for the openess of Android, but this is a Samsung problem more than an Android one. Not that I've ever seen a road map for Android, do Google have such a thing?

Dumb question that I know has been answered loads and will be in the FAQ, but I don't know where to look: How do you backup before installing, I'm fed up re-installing everything and loosing my SMS msgs each time I upgrade.
