I've had my Eros about a week. It's not a bad piece of equipment, but boy do I find it hard to figure out to get it to do what I want.

The notification feature is driving me nuts.

I can't choose which applications send me a notification nor how frequently it updates. I'd actually be happy if I could turn off notications all together. The only way I've found to do this is put the phone on airplane mode- which then turns off the phone, too.

Can anyone give me some simple tips for how modify or turn off notifications from apps?

You can modify the notifications in most of the apps individually. Let us know which you are looking to change and we can point you in the right direction.

Turn turn off all notifications you can go to Settings > Sound & Display > Notification Sounds and change it to silent. That will make the global notification silent, but allow you to adjust apps individually.

To make them all silent go to Settings > Sound & Display > Ringer Volume and uncheck the little box that says something about using the call volume for notifications. This will give you 2 slid bars. Drag the one for notifications all the way to the left and all of your notifications should be silent.

You have to go into the settings for the particular app you want to modify the notifications for. For example, Gmail... open Gmail > menu > settings > scroll to "email notifications" and check or uncheck. You can also "select ringtone" and check or uncheck "vibrate" below "select ringtone".

Modification is similar for other apps you want to set notifications for. Hope this helps.
