Can this even happen that quickly? I thought it had been determined that the SS/EVO hadn't even gotten FCC approval yet, unless I have missed something in the last few days. If it hasn't been approved yet, does anyone think the FCC will be able to move that fast in its approval process?

Pretty sure it could pass through the FCC within the next few days and still come out in a couple of weeks, it's happened before I believe.

Maybe slightly off-topic, but it still relates to the Incredible.
I'm new to this forum, but I've been reading this thread for quite a while now and decided to join. Seems like a good community, and this thread is updated a lot.

I had been wanting a smartphone on Verizon for some time now, I used to have a Blackberry but never really liked the OS, personally. And two weeks back I went into my local Verizon and picked up a Moto Droid, it was a hard choice, because I really like the Sense UI, but the battery life I read about and the speed difference made me land on the Moto Droid over the Eris, though I'm not a fan of the slide-out keyboard.
I do really love this Android OS, though. This is definitely the OS for me.

Then, I read about the Incredible. To me, even with the murky details, it seems like a better version of the Eris, at least for my needs. I've had my Moto Droid for two weeks now, and I really hope something on the Incredible is announced within the next two. That way I can do kinda what others have mentioned and return it within the 30-days for the Incredible, sure I have to pay the restocking fee but I can live with that.

I'm really hoping the Android prophets are right and this thing may make it by mid April! I didn't mean to write a full essay, but I figured I'd just introduce myself and my situation here. :p

Welcome, pull up a chair, enjoy yourself...

This is NOT a flame, just an observation. :D:D

This thread is like a bunch of kids camping out around the box office for a week to get tickets to a Hanna Montana concert and talking about what songs she will sing, what she will wear, will the seats be good, when the box office will open.....

As offended as I am being compared to a rabid 13 year old girl, I feel this is a very accurate depiction of this thread. LOL! :D

At least the Hannah Montana fans have a date to look to forward to! :D

I have a feeling that the extra 'surprise' that the incredible is getting will be something we already know about, the 8GB moviNAND, but i hope its something else.

It's not the Incredible that is getting something extra that we don't know, it's the Nexus. If I'm not mistaken.

Of course since we really dont know everything about the Incredible, we'll obviously be getting something we don't know of with that too. :p

Ah, my mistake. Well if its on the N1 then it won't be anything important since hardware wise the phones should be identical. So i will +1 to skype.

Well, I know this isn't the topic at hand but anyway. I want to support the argument that it won't be named "Incredible" at launch. Seems lots of people are arguing that the phone was stenciled "HTC Incredible" right? Well so was the EVO when it was in development. The photo below clearly show that this dev phone was stenciled "HTC Supersonic" just like the Incredible. That's just my 2 cents.

By the way, don't forget to vote on the "Will it still be named Incredible" poll. Hopefully time is running out to vote on that one since hopefully we will have an announcement soon.

Agree with this, its easy enough to change the stenciling on a battery cover, or to just produce a new battery cover altogether.

Here's a thought going to play Devils advocate here. I hope this does not happen but with the BOGO deal ending 3-31, wouldn't it be wise for VZW to wait until 31 days after this date to release the Incredible?

I assume to avoid all the 30-day returns right? It seems like a smart thing to do, so lets hope Verizon doesn't come up with this idea. haha

That is actually a pretty valid point, if their true intention behind the BOGO deal is to clear the old Droids out anyway. Why announce something that would cause some people to return the old Droids?

I really hope you're wrong though, lol!

OK, I'm carefully avoiding the Hanna Montana references.
Its true that this saga is a little like watching the pig pass down the body of the python. We know the pig is there, we know it will emerge, but we don't know when. Trouble is that in this case there are TWO pigs - the N1 and the ADR6300. Its hard to know what VZW will do in term of release priority and timing, and that makes something as simple as which one comes first hard to call.

Its a guess at best, but I imagine the N1 for VZW will come first, and the ADR6300 will hit VZW stores some indeterminate time after than announcement.

As for the comments on the thread, those who are uncomfortable with conjecture should stay away from forums and stick with reading newspapers. It will be better when this thread is released on DVD as The Incredible - Season 1. Lots of editing will be required :)

True, but I bet a lot of people will grab their droid, not even know about the incredible, and then go home, love it, and forget about VZW... By the time they realize the incredible is out it'll be past the return... Now if VZW markets this phone big, then that could obviously change..

Maybe VZW won't market the incredible heavy at first due to this reasoning??
