Hi,

I was one of the lucky ones who received their T-Mobile HTC Desire on Saturday morning.

Awesome phone and have been playing with it a fair bit.

After about 20-30 minutes of use (reading the news etc.) the back of the phone towards the bottom half / charger socket) gets very warm, noticeably so when hand holding.

I just wandered if anyone else had noticed this or whether it was just my handset?

The handset isn't plugged into the mains when this happens.

Thanks,

Peter.

I've noticed this as well, more use it has the warmer it gets, my battery manager says it's ok though. Will check the temp next time it happens.

Hy! I just got my Desire...I have noticed that after a while gets warm....and when it does, even if I put it on ''sleep",still remains warm...It happened yesterday when I was using a internet for a while, and I let Nimbuzz running in background...the thing is that when it becomes warm, it doesn't work properly, the screen doesn't respond when trying to press something...like it isn't a touch screen..I hope this won't happened again...anyone having the same issue? Thx

Mayne this will help some:

Today I went to the shop where I bought the phone and was told my SIM card was way too old for this kind of phone (SIM was 13 years old), and it was causing it to over heat, I had my SIM changed and the problem improved dramatically, it still gets warm sometimes, depending on the usage, but definitely a lot less than before.

My mobile provider where I bought the desire could have told me that straight away ;)

Dear all,

I was using HTC Desire for about 2 weeks in intensive work without feeling it getting warm. Suddenly I noticed it gets so warm at the bottom back, even when it is in idle mode.

I realized that I have just installed Nimbuzz and that it is working in background. The mobile is cooled back as I shut down the Nimbuzz.

I don't know actually the reason for that.

Regards,
Bassem

Not sure if this has been discussed somewhere.

My phone came with 2.1 initially.
It gets warm too after a period of continuous usage. Still bearable.

Recently I updated to 2.2 OTA, and noticed that the phone run warmer than it was.
Just 5 to 10 minutes, and my palm start to feel uncomfortable..

Anyone has the same experience?
