Root Rooting my phone

Hello guys! I just bought a Micromax a87 off the market and wanna know how to root it! Please guys i need help!! And fast!! Coz i cant run temple run properly on the stock!!!

Agreed with extremeNerd on this problem.

Your phone having issues with Temple run are not going to be solved by rooting.

The problem probably lies in insufficient phone hardware.

• 1GHz Qualcomm processor with GPU.
• Dual SIM Dual Standby.
• Android 2.3.5 – Gingerbread.
• Thickness = 11.7mm.
• 4.0 inch (10.1cm) capacitive touchscreen with 480

This is one of the best phones in the Market at this price..

I rooted my phone and one look at the framework left me amazed.. It literally had no junk files instead. Identifying the right file and editing was childs play..

Thanx guys finally rooted now and messed up things in rom manager! i changed the recovery mod into something else by mistake and it doesn't enter recovery mode at all..! wat to do?

Messed up things in rom manager on my new rooted Micromax A87! i flashed the recovery into something else by mistake and on that flashing list my phone is not listed to restore default recovery!it doesn't enter recovery mode at all..! wat to do?

how new it the phone? does it have a warranty? will it turn on at all or does it do anything? you probably bricked it, if rom manager did not list your phone and you just picked one, it might be bricked. if you have a warranty you will have to send it in and say it broke.

if not bricked you might be best off asking questions in your specific device, they would know most about that phone.

Read, read, read read read read read read. And when you feel like you can't read any more.. read read read read read. Don't flash stuff unless you know and understand what you're doing. If you're not sure, ask ask ask ask ask ask and ask before you do anything!

please? Because I need to backup my current ROM first? Please guys try forwarding this to all the people you know!

Can the phone boot into recovery, instead of using Rom manager, via power/volume key combination? I'm not very familiar with your model phone. Also, if the device boots, can't you just change the setting back? Sorry, I don't have those recovery files. Did you create a nandroid backup? Any kind of backup?

BTW the phone is 8 days old! The phone when pressed the keys (power + volume ) or any other combination it simply doesn't enter recovery it just hangs on start up( if trying to get into recovery) but removing the battery and booting up normally will work like a charm and just start up into normal mode! Will this be covered in warranty? (Maybe won't) Or else how much might it cost to repair? BTW I had made a backup of all system apps+ user apps on titanium backup before screwing it with ROM Manager Will it be of any help?

Bro, I have an idea on fixing this.. But I do not have the phone to test.

If the phone boots it can prolly be fixed. I wouldn't send anything in for warranty unless there's no signs of power at all. Send a pm to ^ previous poster and see what you can get.

I killed my phone and took it the service center and got a DOA for my device..

Getting another A87 today..


PS: I used

1. fastboot erase boot
2. fastboot erase system
3. fastboot erase recovery

There was not way my phone would boot.

I am getting a new one today.

Any use rooting this phone? Like deleting pre-loaded apps for more space to play better games/apps? Is it gonna be worth it?
It will be my 1st android, so I literally don't want to screw it.

I killed my phone and took it the service center and got a DOA for my device..

Getting another A87 today..


PS: I used

1. fastboot erase boot
2. fastboot erase system
3. fastboot erase recovery

There was not way my phone would boot.

I am getting a new one today.

Yup..

DOA - Dead On Arrival...

Because i erased everything, there was no way they could even boot my phone..

I told them that when I connected to the internet, it said updates available and I clicked on update and my phone died..

They gave me the DOA which I had to take to the mobile store to get a new phone.. Mobile store did not have stock of A87 or A100 or A90..

So I am waiting for them to get the stock and I will go for a 87 or 100 whichever is available first..

I download all softwares and install on my pc................
But my didnot connect ...........help me..........
I download THE SOFTWARES AND INSTALLED1.java 32bit
2.android sdk (install 1.sdk tools & 2.google usb driver only)
3.paste .andriod usb_ini file



but my phone not connect
..........usb device not recgonized connected on my pc

U hav corrupted ur recovery
.
Download and Install cwm v5 (available in this forum)
..
Download & Install stock rom
(available in this forum)
..
Flash stock rom using adb via windows pc..
..
Make sure u have android sdk,
java sdk,
a87 drivers installed on ur pc..
..
To connect..switch off ur phone..
Hold volume up button..and power button..<phone wil b stuck at boot screen>
this is fastboot mode on ur a87
..
connect ur phone then to the pc!
..
It wil detect (if not..then pull battery..reboot normally and then connect to install ur drivers)
..
open cmd on windows..

Type "cd <directory of ur adb files>"
example
my adb files are in a folder called android in d drive
then i type
"d:\android\"
..
..now..
Type fastboot flash <location of d stock rom in ur pc>
example..i had my stock rom named update.zip in d drive
..i typed "fastboot flash d:\update.zip"
..
It will flash it..and then type
"fastboot reboot" and ur phone restarts..
