whats a good media player?

Every time I try and stream a video from browser it wont play it. Says its not supported even though it is a type that is.

What sites are you trying to stream from. The phone doesn't support full flash video.

Most phones/browsers won't handle full flash video. Sites like YouTube use a different type and we can watch those. There are other sites that offer video in a mobile friendly format. Many will show video in 3pg or mp4 and those will play fine. There is also a browser called skyfire that is in development for Android that supports full flash. I think it is in alpha testing right now.
