Straight Talk Data Network Speed

Hello,
I plan to buy a Samsung Galaxy Note II and switch to Straight Talk. I live in San Jose, CA and mostly need high speed data but not lots of it. I easily keep my data consumption below 500 MB. Right now on Verizon LTE I get close 10 mbps. What is the data network speed of Straight Talk. I know it is on ATT network but can't use ATT 4g services. So will I get 3G HSPA+ speeds? Can anyone post speed test results? Will a high end device like the Note II be wasted on a network like StraightTalk?

It DOES get access to AT&T's 4G HSPA+ network. Yes, HSPA+ IS a 4G technology, even when people try to tell you it's not. I don't have the link currently, but only H+ and LTE are TRUE 4G networks.

Anyway, I average between 3.4-5.9 MB/s speeds in AT&T's network. This is in Fargo, ND, where they only have HSPA+15 backhaul capabilites. I'm just guessing around Cali they have H+21 speeds. Hope this helps.

PS: I personally prefer HSPA+ over LTE, the ping sucks sometimes, but my battery doesn't get rocked by LTE's horrid drain. :D

Can not speak for the Note. Do not own it.
I imagine as with any service, it all depends on your location. VZW is not good around my area. They turned on LTE but a friend has a VZW LTE phone and his battery does indeed take a big hit. AT&T also has LTE in my area. Another friend has the One X and his battery also takes a hit on LTE.
I am on AT&T towers via ST with my S3 and get 3 to 5 MBPS at home and 6 to 8 MBPS at work. This is WAY more speed than i need for my phone. We have a crappy router at work and if i am at any distance at all, i get better OTA speeds than i do WiFi speeds :)
I had VZW for years. They do indeed have a great network but where i live the data really does terrible unless your on LTE. (which btw is in a very limited area where i live). Hence AT&T................hence ST..................lol

I've always got better speeds with the T mobile sim on ST. My buddy is running the Note 2 right now and is getting 15-18mbps.
