Help Anyone else having problems with Kies?

I've just tried using Kies.

It asked if I wanted to upgrade the (Kies) software and I did. But it runs incredibly slowly. It took about 10 minutes to connect to my GT8010. I then tried backing up s planner and s note and gave up waiting for it.

All the while, whether doing anything or just it sitting idle, it runs my laptop CPU at almost 100%

What on earth is wrong with this thing?

Anyone else have any experience. Also, any way to revert to earlier version of software?

Thanks.

I am running the latest Kies and it works fine.
I would uninstall it and then re-install. Also if you are running Kies Air remove it first as as the newer Kies will install it too.

Sometimes I can get Kies to connect to my phone or tablet quicker by unplugging the USB connector and then re-plugging it in.
BTW... you can actually connect both to tablet and phone to Kies at the same time. You just have to make sure which one you are working with from the left hand tab.

I gave up on Kies a couple of months ago, it was so flaky. I transfer files and photos via the USB connection perfectly easily, and use Google calendar which updates from the computer via Google, so don't see any reason to go back to Kies. Unless there's something I'm missing? And the latest Kies is stable?

I just thought that kies might be an easier method of backing up things. It does, for example, backup s note and s planner (or should do) - although I'm not interested in backing other things up (pictures, music etc)

Perhaps I should go the Google Calendar route. How does that work? Do you load Google calendar on your PC and also as an app in the tab and then set them to synchronise somehow? Any advice on that appreciated.

Cheers.

No need for calendar on pc. It synchronizes with your google account and you choose your preferred method of acceszing it if not from the Note.
