What do I need to do with my MicroSD prior to plugging it in?

Good evening all.

I am sure I am not alone ...

After I get my HTC Droid Incredible at the end of the month, I will not only be taking plenty of time to enjoy it, but I will be having a BlackBerry Storm One smashing session. Yes, I am going to take a hammer and completely destroy the thing (all on video, of course). I know there are donation groups out there benefiting military persons or battered women, but it would be abuse on my part to let this POS get in anyone else's hands.

So, prior to destroying it, I will be taking out the battery and other things I might need. One thing that will be useful until I get something of a larger size nature is the 8GB MicroSD card that came with the BlackBerry Storm One.

What I need to know is if there is something I should do like reformat it prior to sticking it in the HTC Droid Incredible. I do not have an adapter to plug it into my laptop, but there might be a way to clear it out from the BlackBerry.

I just don't want to "infect" my new phone with the crappiness that is my BBS1 phone. :)

No, I don't believe you need to do formatting or anything like that. I'm just going to take mine right out of my Storm, and put it into the Incredible.

And to be fair to the Storm, I've never had any issues with mine (although I never had it during the first OS, I got mine after the 2nd, much needed update). I actually really like my BlackBerry, but it's time for me to part and move onto an Android phone!

I would take any files you want to have on your incredible and save them to a folder on you computer then insert the microsd card blank let the phone do its thing to it and then re install any files back on the card...
People say you don't need to , which is true but when I got my Eris I took my class4 8gig card that I had in my Dare and just put it in, and my phone was so laggy it was almost un usable so after a day and a half I wipped the card , put it blank in my Eris then put all the same files back on my card and the phone worked normally

You can reformat it from within the OS on the Incredible. Also, you might want to reconsider that Storm smashing, as even as glitchy as the Storms are, there are people in need who would be more than happy to put up with the glitches in order to have it.

Trust me. There is no one that would tolerate the glitches with my BS1. I have a launch unit, and even with the updates, it has problems. Today alone it has gone black screen a few times, requiring a battery pull.

Thanks all that have replied.
