Help identifying a symbol on tablet

Hello again. I am trying to find what this symbol is, I thought it was a battery but looking at it closer I am not sure what it is. Has anybody ever seen this symbol, and if so, what does it mean? Its has two...triangles almost with a red X through it. Thanks!

Don't recognize that one, but I would suspect the red X means that whatever it is, it's turned off. Try enabling services until the red X disappears and that will be what it's for.

Thanks for the reply's. The tablet is an ematic eglide pro 2. I was just going to do a factory reset, being a few months since I have used it I forgot the factory restore password. It could be any service that is disabled. You wouldn't happen to know how to do a manual factory reset would you Lunatic? I figure it would be easier to just wipe it clean an reset all the services then to go threw a hundred or so services. I appreciate the input. Thanks.

Go to settings>backup and reset and choose factory data reset.

Hmm, That seems to be my dilemma. I go to that option, but it requires a password. I don't remember setting one up for the factory restore, but I don't know. It doesn't seem to want to let me restore without a password.

Does it give you any kind of indication about what kind of password? if it's 4 characters, you might try '0000' or '1234' or '9999'.

As far as a hard reset from recovery, it's very hard to know without knowing the specific procedure. This is almost always done with the device off, but you can try holding both volume keys down while pressing the power button. If the screen flashes, release the power button and see if it gives you recovery options. You could also try similarly with only the volume down or volume up and the power key.

I didn't seem to be able to find anything online other than the user manual which doesn't provide anything beyond using the settings menu.

I have indeed tried 0000-9999, I will try the 1234. Another problem I have been having with this tablet is rapid battery loss. I've had it for about a year, but this problem started when I received it in new condition. For example, I charged it to 100% yesterday( It actually dropped down to 95% after disconnecting it from the charger) and after a night being off, and about 40 mins of use I just put into it it is already down to 50%.

Would this be caused by a faulty battery, or something else? Thanks for the reply Lunatic.

I would say that from full charge to 50% in less than an hour was definitely sign of a major problem. Does it get hot? I'd be concerned about that. If this is still within the return period, you might want to exchange it, of if not, send it in for a warranty repair ... which means they take yours and give you a refurbished model.

It's also the sign of a cheapo tablet as well, which is what the Ematic is AFAIK. The Ampe thing I got can drain to 50% in less than an hour as well. Good battery life is often not a design priority with these things.

I'd say it gets warm, not burning hot but warm enough to notice. It is past the return time, If this is a known problem like mike is saying because they are cheap tablets. Would it be worth it to send it in for a refurbished one? Also to Mike: would it make a difference if the battery was replaced? Or would it, even with a replaced battery still drain due to the tablet itself?

The battery always drained quickly on mine, even when it was new, I'm sure many other cheapo tablets are similar. I just put it down to a crappy cheap low capacity battery that was fitted at the factory, rather than the tablet's actual power consumption. These things are really made down to a price. You maybe able to change it, but you'd have to find an appropriate one for the device. TBH I've not bothered, as I mainly use mine to watch movies in bed.

Thanks for the reply Mike, Your up early! lol. Hmm, I may try to track a battery down just to make sure. If it still does it with a new battery I will either send it in for the warranty exchange that lunatic had mentioned or save up for a descent tablet that doesn't drain in two hours or less.

As A replacement I was looking at this one. I'm not sure if it is the right size, but the height and width seems small enough to fit in the tablet. The battery in it now is a 3.7v 4000Mah battery, this one is a 8000Mah. If it is a proper replacement then it should be considerably better on the battery life.

Ok, just an update. I got a new battery ordered and will switch it out when it arrives. Thank you guys for the help!
