Droid Maxx Battery Life as Promised?

GPS was enabled the full time ... 2d 15h 0m ... almost unbelievable. Also shown is the dialog that appears when you are down to 15%.

This weekend I played a round of golf with a Golf GPS application. This was a big test for me, because on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus I was able to get through THREE HOLES before the battery gave up.

I am very, very pleased to say that after a full round of using an incredibly cool GPS app, my phone was at 80%.

This is just incredible. Further, my golf buddy saw how effective/beautiful this phone is, and immediately went to Verizon and purchased one.

I don't remember having buyers remorse with my Galaxy Nexus phone, but I don't remember being anywhere near as giddy about it as I am about this phone. The X8 Processor Phones are a huge winner in my book.

Since buying the phone, I've primarily been in an area with an active wifi connection, and every day the trend was that my battery life would be 46 to 50 hours. The last two days I was traveling and was away from wifi almost all day. Last night I went to bed after about 17 hours with 53% battery life left, so trending to 36 hours or so. Today has been the same; 14 and a half hours off battery and I'm at 56%, so about a 32 hour trend. (I was navigating for about 30 minutes off power today while driving.)

This is fantastic. Knowing that at the worst I'll never have to worry about plugging in while I'm awake? That was the reason I wanted this phone. Everything else it can do (great speed, great display, active notifications, thinness) is gravy.

Battery life is so nice after the disappointing Galaxy Nexus. That phone had to be nursed to make it to bedtime, and I'm not a heavy user.
My three-day-old Droid Maxx is in heavy use because I'm still playing with all the doodads, and I've avoided plugging it in during the day just to see how it performs. It's never gone to bed with less than 30% battery. I even ran Navigate for 45 minutes yesterday without plugging it in, and it didn't flinch.

28 hours with 5+ hours of screen time? UNBELIEVEABLE!!!

Hello? Every other smart phone owner in the world? THIS is what your device should be like.

Ha. I was down to 12 percent and leaving a PF Chang's to go back to my hotel when Google Maps told me there was an accident on the normal route. So, I used the GPS to circumvent it, otherwise it would've made 30.

Hi everyone, generally speaking, how much juice should streaming music take from the battery life? I probably stream between 4-5 hours a day from Pandora at work, and it's over 3G/4G (signal goes in and out) not wi-fi.

I ask because I'm not seeing the massive battery times (though still good) and want to know if this could be the culprit.

The combo of streaming and a weaker signal indicated by the signal going in and out could drain the battery faster. This is kinda why I wish we could still just switch to 3G only. 3G is fine for music and probably would help in your situation.

Battery is still settling in but looks like this is going to be a charge every other day phone.

After using the original razr for the last few years this battery completely changes how you use the phone. I have gone from plugging in at every opportunity to not worrying about it and using the phones features with impunity.

Its faster than the razr, and has some nice little software improvements but the battery is the game changer. Be hard to go back to something without this kind of battery life.

Motorola made no promises of a certain battery life. How would that even be possible? Case in point: You and I both have a Maxx and, with a full charge, set off for our day using our Maxx. Do you think you and I are gonna wind up draining our batteries at the same hour? Your Maxx may last until the next day where as mine might be dead by midnight. Usage dictates how long a battery will last. Because of that, Motorola made no promise about battery life because it's impossible to do so unless we all used our devices the same way.

I upgraded from the Droid Razr MAXX HD, which lasted two days solid with moderate use, to the Droid MAXX. The Verizon representative, as well as threads in this forum, indicated that the battery life was better than the Razr MAXX HD.

However, I have noticed the opposite, and last night, I even tried putting the phone in Airplane Mode, and it lost 10% of battery, whereas the Razr MAXX HD would loose 1 to 2% over a 7 hour period in Airplane Mode.

My question is if you think this is because of a rouge application, is there something wrong, or is this normal?

Thank you for your help, and here are the screenshots:
