Salutations everyone this is my first post, and as the title states I am a noob so please excuse my lack of knowledge with simple basic programming terms. I somehow managed to root my droid while it was in 2.0.1 to Pete's Bugless Beast 0.9 and it's awesome but I have been lurking on this board for a while and read about version 1.0 and want to try and update if I can. Now are you guys rooting the stock 2.1 and then installing BB 1.0 or are you going from 2.0.1? If it's from the stock 2.1 how do I go back to stock 2.0.1 so i can update? I know stupid question that's probably very easy but I'm new so give me a little help and soon I won't be asking noobish questions anymore, maybe I will actually help and contribute to answering those questions for others. Hopefully there is some link someone can give me to help me out. That's how i first hacked my phone so I can read pretty well and follow instruction as long as it's painfully detailed (took me 2 hours to get 0.9 on my phone the first time LOL!). Thanks for any help

Once your phone is rooted you don't have to root it again. The version of Android you are running on your phone is independent (although possibly based on) 2.0.1 or 2.1 or anything like that.

If you are still rooted, probably the easiest way to get BB1.0 on your phone is to download ROM Manager. You will have to pay for the full version to get access to BB. If you'd rather not buy it you will have to download the .zip from [ROM] Bugless Beast V1.0 ESE81 and install it using your recovery software (reboot and hold X).
