Help Changing Default Google Account?

I have multiple Gmail accounts on my Incredible and I want to switch my original default to one of the other ones. When you go under Settings>Sync...> it has the four Gmail accounts, with only one giving you the option to sync calendar. I want to sync the calendar of one of the others, not that one, and I can't figure out how to switch it. Also, the account is showing up as my Google log in for Maps. I've found an option to make the Gmail portion your default but no overall Google default. Thanks in advance.

Go to settings>applications>menu>filter>all

and find gmail and gmail data. If you clear those to my knowledge you can then readd your gmails accounts and do the one you want default first.

Or you can try to remove them all form accounts and sync.

If these don't work i believe you have to do a factory reset.

Be advised that it has been my experience that when you swap default Google accounts that your applications will be deregistered and/or no longer available for re-download.

I tried this a while back and found it to be a major hassle since purchases appear locked to whatever Google account they were made under.

On the plus side if you have two Android phones and both use the same Google account as their primary you can share application purchases between them no problem.

I have a Droid and Nexus One that I do this with.

The tip below works best. One of many reasons I am happy with Google and Android - I can merge-view multiple calendars including spouse, joint events, etc. DaWeave saved me a lot of nonsense device-wise, by makeing me think "in the cloud" - not in terms of apps.

If all you want is the calendar from the other account, I'd suggest that you share the calendar from the other account with your current Google account with full permissions and you'll then see the other Google calendar on the calendar list in your phones HTC calendar app where you can make changes.

How did you make this work? I have my calendar set up in my Google account and my wife's set up in hers and our calendars are shared with each other with "make changes and manage sharing" authority, yet only my calendars and the Google Holidays calendar show up in the list of Calendars in the HTC Calendar app. It works fine for the desktop so I started looking for a solution and found a FAQ on it on Google that said they couldn't be combined on the mobile phone; I'd have to view the combined calendar through a browser.

I'd really like to be able to view them in one place on the phone.

What I did was to go to the Google calendar I usually look at on the PC. In settings I went to "Calendars" tab, and edited the shared settings to add in the name of the primary Gmail account I have on my Android phone. Did it for my wife's as well as my calendar, and a "shared vacation/commitments" one we have set up. Worked easily and really quickly (refresh the HTC calendar a couple of times, but it recognized the new data in less than five minutes.

Thanks to you and DaWeav for showing me this was possible! I had most of it right, but just needed to add my wife's calendar in the HTC app. All the others just appeared in the list, so I never thought to look at the add.

I like how Android is very integrated with some Google stuff, but I just wish more Google stuff was integrated, like Tasks, Notebook, Picasa, Docs, and Reader for example. It's funny to me why Google Bookmarks doesn't have a mobile sync either.

Anyway, I just wish my Hero had 2.1 like your Incredible's have. It looks like I have to wait another couple of weeks for the 2.1 upgrade.
