Facebook for HTC SENSE

Please tell me there is more I can do
besides uploading pictures
to it..

I saw a thread about this but couldn't find it to reply in.
I love facebook and uploading photos
and yes there is a facebook for Android application
but i was wanting to know is there
other things
i have yet to discover about it?

Facebook for HTC Sense is all the nice little touches that involve FB. The syncing of your contacts' pictures, FB photo albums appearing in the Albums app....

Go into your contacts, your own contact card, and then you can update your facebook status as well.

i just use the browser to access fb mobile...it seems to give more functionality, plus you can see other people's pics, which the stock app doesnt seem to want to let me do.

Open your People app, hit the little People icon with the circling arrows on it. This is everyone's birthdays and upcoming events.

Very useful for birthdays. On this screen, you can hit Menu > Settings, and turn on Event notifications, so that it actually gives you a Notifications for peoples' Birthdays, etc.

The direct links to peoples' profiles, within their contact list, as well as the picture and birthday notification, photo upload, and status update, make Facebook for HTC sense just fine for me.

I think it's designed to not force LOTS of facebook features onto you (like the Facebook App) and notify you for every little thing, but build in a LITTLE bit of Facebook, so that you can use Facebook Mobile or Touch or the App if you want more.

I think people who aren't 'heavy' facebookers appreciate the subtle inclusion of Facebook into HTC Sense. I think if they synced their phone and were getting all kinds of messages, notifications, events, and so on popping up by default (or even by accidentally turning on the notifications at some point), many novice Android users who are NOT heavy facebookers would be a little bit overwhelmed.

I like the subtleness of it.

Well now it's merged most or all of my 1400+
facebook friends into my contacts

how do i fix this?

Open people > menu > view and uncheck facebook. That will remove all the people that are just facebook contacts.

Unfortunately that only removes them from the People widget. The contacts are still stored in the master device contacts list which is accessed via the phone dialer, when sending a new email or text message......SUPER ANNOYING......and no work around except to not use facebook for htc sense.

That's right, I forget about the messaging app because I don't use it.

yeah i'm using that for photos but also wish i could sync facebook status for only my phonebook contacts..........worked great in 1.5.....wonder why they made the change? I bet when the OTA comes out this issue will get alot of visibility because it is a change in functionality from before........a change for the worse in my opinion.

This issue may give me the motivation to finally purge the unimportant contacts from FB.
