Hello,

My wife and I are about to jump into the Android OS when we upgrade our phones to the Droid Eris and Incredible. Is it possible to do the following with DTG?

1. Open a Word document from an attachment in an email and view AND modify it then email back the document with those changes???

What I would like to be able to do is email myself a word doc attachment from my home computer to work on and edit while on the road. Then make the necessary changes and email it back to myself. When I get home open the email with the modified Word Doc and print the document? Or is there an easier way to accomplish this? Thanks for any help!!!

I've got Docs To Go and have tried both Sugarsync and Dropbox. To my mind niether of them actually allow a seamless sync of file on PC with edited file on Android. I'm talking about 1 excel file. There is no problem getting file onto Android and opening it. Of course editing it is straight forward. However after closing the file in DTG I cannot get the file on either sugar sync or dropbox to be updated automatically in a consistant manner. In fact Dropbox doesn't do it at all. Sugarsync does, but it seems to only do it for the 1st time and then only changes file on their server rather than doing that and also changing residing file on my PC.

Can anyone confirm that this is their findings too, or am I doing something fundementally wrong.

Yeap. Dropbox does not auto sync right now. To upload the file you updated, you have to use OI Files Explorer. In Dropbox, go into a folder, tap "Menu", then "Upload", "Text". OI File Explorer will open and you can select the document you change to upload.

Rather cumbersome I know. Dropbox needs to add "Sync" to Android. From taking a look at the iPhone, there isn't syncing for Dropbox either.

I don't have Sugarsync so I dunno how it works. But I am sure someone can help you with that!

The reason why I recommended Dropbox is because it does autosync between computers. So at least you don't have email yourself with regards to computers. And to my knowledge, it is rather complicated to send an attachment by email with Android, so re-sending the document to yourself is harder the than uploading through Dropbox.
