Hey guys. With android 2.2 looming right around the corner I'm getting a little nervous about my brand new phone being passed by. Do we need to wait for sense 2.2 to get this frozen goodness or will we be able to upgrade earlier? Also if we cant upgrade within sense how hard would it be to load stock 2.2 as the incredible and nexus have the same guts?

It'll be awhile. Just sit tight. The google nexus one will get it first and the moto droid will get it after that. The HTC phones running senseui will get it a few weeks to a month or so later due to the senseui integration. Its not a big deal and we won't be left behind but HTC does have to do testing and then it gets passed to verizon. Verizon will do their own testing and then it'll be released.

Well flash running on a Nexus one is a scary thing. Mine hardly even worked with 3G, and would drop the signal and call left and right. And there is still no 3G fix in the works, so I'd really love to see this thing running flash through the Internet on at&t or tmobile. Granted when It does come to vzw, which will most likely be at the end of summer, its gonna rock. Wonder if the EVO ships with it?

You guys have it all wrong... The best part of 2.2 is 2 things...

1. JIT!!!! How fast is Android 2.2? Froyo reportedly boosts speed by 450 percent | Android Central

2. APPS2SD!!! (more space means more speed...and just more space for apps :) )

I agree those would be nice but My phone is fast enough and I will never use the storage I have now for all the apps I need. This may change as more apps get relesed but I dont see it happening any time soon.

I would still rather have sense UI and wait a few more months for 2.2 then have the vanilla adroid with crappy Exchange and POP 3 support.

Everyones wants/needs are diffrent so this is only my view

plus, until we get senseui integration, it will give enough time for the early adopters to play guniea pig, find issues, and hopefully have the dev team fix them. So hopefully by the time we get to 2.2, it will be nice and patched and working even better. Wishful thinking?

I agree with this as well... sense UI is the reason I got this phone over the Motorola Droid (I heart HTC's sense). I won't do anything until HTC sense is available with it, but the speed difference is pretty staggering. Either way its going to be a worthy upgrade, whether it happens tomorrow or in 2 months. I'm pumped!
