Help Noise Cancellation Music

what part of the music do you want to get rid of?

noise cancellation is only applicable to phone calls since the mic can pick a lot more than just your voice

edit: Read up on those bose headphones. Since you would need a mic in the headphones themselves, it's technically not possible for nexus one to do that, I think.

Haha, no offense guys but I find it funny how everyone on these forums worship Bose headphones when every audiophile I know has told me that Bose is crap for the amount of money they charge you for their products. Don't hate me, I didn't say that I myself agree, it's just ironic.

I've heard Bose' Noise cancellation is actually pretty good.

Well, I didn't (and don't) recommend Bose, but many people are very happy with them (mostly because they think that if they spent a lot of money, they must have a good product). And many audiophiles spend ungodly amounts of money (think "he could have bought a car instead"), for negligible and probably illusory audio quality upgrades.

Also, Bose headphones are supposedly pretty decent. It's the systems and speakers that are so vastly overvalued.

I think you get maybe 50% quality with stock headphones nowadays, but forking out $50-200 for a good set that will last a long time will get you 99%. To get that last 1%, you have to pay out the nose, and you probably won't even be able to hear the difference.

i was annoyed at the way this post went, so i made an account just to post...
there is no reason to my knowledge taht the microphone on the camera shouldn't be used to cancel out background noisel. It seems to me that this could be done in an app.
If the distance from the mic to the headphones is a problem, then make a slider bar with real time delay so the user can determine the best setting. But really speed of sound is pretty fast and if you can tell the difference over a meter i'd be impressed.
It would work great with high frequency repetitive noise and even better with song caching.
so app man, get cracking...

What? So if your phone is in your pocket you still expect the noise cancelling mic to pick up background noise sufficiently to do the job of noise cancelling headphones with mic's placed next to your ear? Get real.

Or I suppose we could all walk around holding our phones in the air in order to listen to music..?
