Diagonal Pixelation When Casting From Laptop To Panasonic TV?

Hey,

We have a Panasonic TV (Android TV) with a built-in casting feature. All other devices work fine with it, but when I cast from Chrome on my laptop (ASUS gaming laptop), I get a weird pixelated screen, as if the screen has been chopped diagonally and put back together wrongly.

Any idea how to fix this?

Thanks,
- James.

What kind of content are you casting from your browser? Online video or game, or a locally stored (on your Asus) file? Does this content do anything to or require you to change your laptop's default resolution?
Also, is this happening with just one item or is it repeatable with different things?

I'm casting online embedded video content from my browser, so it shouldn't require me to change the resolution. Plus the same thing applies whatever video I'm trying to cast.

Thanks.

Just playing around with screen resolution on a laptop using the Chrome browser to cast to my Chromecast I can get the image on my TV to distort in different ways. I'm aware that's not your situation but I have to wonder if there's just some glitchy issue between the display driver of your Asus and your Panasonic. Before Google added integral support to Chrome for tab casting there was the 'Google Cast' extension. In its Options menu there was a selection for opting for 'Tab casting quality' (480, 720, auto 1080, etc.) but I don't see any such options in the 'Cast...' menu option in Chrome's Settings anymore. Anyway, maybe try changing the screen resolution of your Asus (at least temporarily as a test) and see if that makes any difference on your Panasonic's display. Or see if there are corresponding resolution options in your Panasonic's setup menu.
