I wonder if Verizon will let me trial run this phone.

After the first 2 weeks I found myself looking for wifi and using my iPod Touch more and more often because the browser and apps were better. By day 22 I had packed it up and shipped it back. I wasn't interested in taking a step backwards in usability. If you're a social networking addict, it may be the phone for you. None of the friendstream features were useful for me, and aside from being able to dress it up any way I wanted, I couldn't really use it for my workflow. The android VNC apps are all pretty terrible without a physical keyboard. Come to think of it, a lot of apps I tried out were designed with physical keyboards in mind. I found myself wishing I had purchased a Droid instead, and with the Droid 2 just around the corner, I may still do that.
I had a few major hardware gripes about the Incredible:
The AMOLED screen is 100% useless outdoors unless you shade it with your body.
Build quality. This could be a function of them making it thin so it looks sexy, but the case flexes and with all the reports of shattering screens on these forums, I felt like I had to be careful when it was in my pocket. Like i was carrying an egg.
Battery Life. They expect you to buy an after-market battery or charge the phone overnight and at lunch.
The software inadequacies should work themselves out in a few months as developers hop on board, but right now there's too many "gotchas" in going from an iphone > android. It's just not ready for me yet.
In the end, you just need to take inventory of what you need out of your mobile device and make sure it can deliver. Make good use of your 30 days!
