So i am leaving verizon for sprint because of this beautiful phone and cheaper plans. Is there anything i should know about sprints service, or anyway i can discount my ETF with Verizon right now which is about 80 bucks?

Also, what are some good screen protectors?

I'm thinking of doing the same thing. However, I think VZW will milk you for every dime if you terminate early. Just my opinion.

I'm coming from Verizon too, but I am in my first 30, so I should be OK.

They were all out of incredibles, so they sold me a droid and said I could return it when they were stocked. With my employee discount, the verizon 450+data is the same as sprint's everything data/450. They didn't have an evo display, but I checked the signal on a sprint hero, and the signal was 10db better, and the evdo download was >100kbps better. The girl at sprint promised they didn't have one of those repeater things in the store, and that wouldn't have impacted speedtest.net anyway.

I am totally torn between the 2 phones, but the signal difference near home, the pricing, and the difference in ETFs (vzw-$350, sprint-$200) are pushing me to the evo.

If it fits in my jeans pocket Friday, I'll go with it. I figure worst case, I have 30 days, and I can always change again if need be.

I 've heard that sprint is giving a $100 port credit to new customers porting their number over to sprint. That should more than offset you EFT. You should give sprint a call...........

I found this site that should assist in the port credit:
Sprint Number Porting Credit Application

Good Luck, and make sure you setup your gmail/app brain/contacts up before Friday.

I got in my time machine, went forward in time to Friday, and got my EVO, but the lady at the Sprint store told me that the porting credit was only for corporate accounts.

$100 Port Credit
Eligibility Requirements:

Service credit request must be made at https://www.sprintportcredit.com within 72 hours from the port-in activation date for your Service Credit Request. Service credit is available only to eligible corporate-liable accounts. Promo requires 2-year contract agreement outside of hierarchy/special contract terms. Must port in from an active wireless line and remain active on original account number for 61 days in order to receive full service credit. You should continue paying your bill while waiting for your service credit to avoid service disruption and possible credit delay.

Credits apply to all devices that have an associated mobile number and come through the port process. Promotion excludes port ins from providers currently associated with Sprint. Excludes all Individual Liable, Seasonal Standby, and Special Government Rate Plans less than $10 (e.g., U3169, U3169H, U3169D, C1266).

Payment Expectations:

$100 per active line on the original Sprint Account Number will appear on your first or second invoice following the 61st day after the port-in activation. Service credits will appear in adjustment summary section at account level on invoice and will appear as a "VALUED CUSTOMER SERVICE CREDIT." If service credit does not appear on the invoice following the 61st day, visit https://www.sprintportcredit.com and click on "Where

Add me to the list of VZW refugees.

Service was outstanding, can't remember the phone ever not being able to make a call, but I'm just tired of paying so much more and the EVO looks fantastic to me.

To top it off, I live in Atlanta and I've been using Clear WiMax with very good results, so I'm looking forward to 4G in a phone and free WiMax (pdanet tethering) for my laptop.
