Interesting poll on Cnet

Let's make the accursed afterbirth of Apple, known as the iPhone, take a nice little dirt nap.

This is the way the results should read. I mean credit is given where credit is due, and the Iphone 4 is a visually stunning device but so are our Evo's. I was standing in Best Buy earlier while the incompetent mobile representatives reinstalled my ZAGG for the 3rd time when I heard a group of AT&T customers behind me talking about all the amazing things that the Iphone 4 will be capable of. Every time they mentioned something it was so hard to bite my tongue and keep from saying. "Yea my hero could do that last November." And it is still astounding to me that most people that are chomping at the bit to order and Iphone 4 STILL think that the 4 means 4g coverage. So people just cant stop suckling at mother Apples tit.

How can anyone vote in that poll in good faith when you haven't even so much as touched an iPhone4? Hogwash. All of you voting for the EVO over the iPhone are just as big - nay, bigger - fanboys than those voting for the iPhone. The EVO very well might be the superior device, but you can't vote if you have never used the one of them.

Anybody noticed the inaccurate plans they posted for sprint in their comparison? It should be 450 minutes for landlines, unlimited any-mobile to any-mobile, unlimited talk and text as well as 4G service. :)

Did you read it?

Sprint bundles its data with its voice and messaging plans. $79.99 with 450 minutes, unlimited messaging, and unlimited data, $99.99 with 900 minutes, unlimited messaging, and unlimited data, $109.99 with unlimited everything (Includes mandatory $10 extra for 4G access). Note that the alloted minutes here are only for calls to landlines -- all mobile-to-mobile calls are unlimited.
Data plan: $15 for 200MB, $25 for 2GB. Existing customers can keep unlimited data plan for $30. To match it up with Sprint's $79.99 450 voice minutes + unlimited messaging + unlimited data plan, it would cost you $89.99 (It's $84.99 if you have the 2GB/mth instead of the unlimited)

The poll asks "Would you buy the Apple iPhone4 or the HTC Evo 4G?" They're not asking if the reader thinks one is better than the other. They're simply asking, given what you know today, which one would you buy?

Because its a simple question of which you would buy. You can get a good feeling of what you prefer and carrier may influence some votes there.(but Sprint seems just as hated as ATT)

Seems perfectly fine to vote to me. I guess I am a "worse then Apple fanboy" for not being impressed at all by Apples announcement and only thing it has better is the form factor/color.(idkw I love white so much but it looks slick)

Defensive tonight, lads? Again...most of the people voting already had their minds made up about the EVO - and you all obviously already bought the EVO. I'm just saying, to vote properly you need to give the other a fair shake. Say what you want, but the iPhone will be one of the best (the best?) smart phones on the market in a little over two weeks. It's OK to accept that.

Wow Whose the one being defensive here lol. Do I detect a bit of an apple fan boy or should i say fan girl judging from the high heels. I agree "to a certain point" that the iphone 4 needs to be given a "fair shake" to be given an accurately fair comparison to the Evo but coming from an iphone myself and reading and watching everything about the new iphone 4 i have to honestly say im not all that impressed. To say "the iphone will be one of the best" ya i agree probably in the top 3 category, "the best?" time will tell but i personally doubt it, given it really doesnt bring anything revolutionary to the table, nicer screen, better internal hardware yada yada yay. Same OS for the exception of multitasking which is not even true multitasking. Like i said i have an iphone "work phone" and i dont think the new iphone 4 is a revolutionary step up from the current iphone 3gs. But it sure does look pretty :)

If you think about it, not even 99.99% of the iPhone fan boys have used the iPhone 4. :) They're just about to start taking pre-order on the device.
