Should I be worried about getting my EVO tomorrow since Sprint finally called me and said mine was able to be picked up b/c as of close today the other person on the list got one already. All I'm seeing on here is problems and build quality running ragged like a epidemic on this forum. I'm very worried now.

I worry b/c I am switching from my iPhone which I had a tremendous love/hate relationship with. I loved the ease of use and quality but hated the service and closed system of which Apple ran. And after finally getting out of contract and working at Best Buy and playing with Android phones since the Droid last year I have fallen in love with the open-endedness of the android platform and last week on vacation I fell in love with my best friends EVO. But after reading all these its broke threads I just got really freaked out. I don't feel like going back and forth with Sprint to get it working properly if its inevitable that I will be getting it fixed or replaced as often as it sounds they are failing.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. There are so many "It's Broke" threads because nobody comes to the forums to say theirs works perfectly. Only negative news is worth logging in to write about.

Mine works perfectly, Im just having glass separation issues. No big deal right. I'll just wait til Radio Shack gets me a replacement. Check out my other post's for pics.:D

Guess I could have phrased my post slightly different but, yea, you get my point.

Rarely do people come to the forums to start threads when their phone is legit. Many people start threads about their issues without looking to see if there is already a thread about the problem. Multiple battery threads, multiple screen separation threads, multiple light leak threads, multiple hardware version 0003 is the bomb threads...

As with all tech there are going to be lemons. Get the phone. It will be fine. If not, you have a one year warranty against manufacturer defects.

and....even when those of us who are happy with our Evo's speak up, it seems like no one is listening to us. They just concentrate on the negative. Bottom line is if you want an Evo, get an Evo, and if you don't want one, move on to what you really do want.

Just think about it for a second... how many tens of thousands of people have gotten this phone... and I guarantee you that less than 1% of those people come to this forum so if it seems like there are a lot of complaints then that's because that's what people do best when they over exaggerate what it is they're buying. People hype themselves up too much and then the slightest problem becomes a catastrophe because it's not "perfect." The phone is great, be excited, if you have a problem with it you'll get it resolved just like anything else you buy.

Be excited, not worried... and stay off these forums if it's making you worried before you even get something. It's wise to be informed, but unwise to worry about something that you can't control (regarding defects).

Good luck and enjoy your phone.

Not to mention that the people who come here are probably more anal & OCD than most...

I had the Pre before this & it did have as many problems as was claimed on the forums--at least judging by the fact that I went through 6 of them, there had to have been a lot of problems. I got the Evo on launch day & haven't had a single complaint. It only gets more awesome with every day!

Yea, were mostly all crazy here, and OCD...LOL.
Get it, enjoy it, and if anything goes wrong use your 30 day return policy. All I have to say is, I have not put my EVO down since I got it on the 4th.

It may just be the best device that I have ever owned, and I've owned plenty, including the iPhone 3Gs. Honestly the EVO kills the 3Gs in every area, except battery life, but that's a whole other convo.

Enjoy your new Toy.
