Advertising in my Music? WTF

am at work and happen to be listening to my mp3s on my storage card through the onboard music player. I am pretty engaged in trying to find an error in a formula for the past couple hours but was subconciously noticing what seems to be adds or some announcement of soccer activity between songs. After getting kind of suspicious, I concentrated on listening carefully after each song. Sure enough on que, after each song, I am hearing a foreign voice announcing soccer scores, players, matches, etc. WTF? I look at my screen and each announcement show up in my play list as about a 2 second file. Is this a part of all of those disclosures that get presented which each new APP download? Is this an inherent thing with the Android system or is it possible that my card is now corrupted. This is very annoying and quite alarming. I've been afraid to pull up any of my Credit Card or Bank accounts on my EVO for fear of getting my info and identity stolen. Is this a legit concern as I online banked on my TP2 everyday without reservation. Did any one else experience anything similar? Thanks for any feedback.

Are you sure its soccer scores and not the devil you are hearing?
I remember that fluffy haired kid from the scary movie in the 80's that would hear the devil talking to him through his walkman. If the voice stops giving soccer scores and starts telling you to do bad things then i may consider exchanging your evo. But that's just me.

Back to the topic at hand (assuming I don't get logged out again):

It sounds like there was some streaming application running at some point in time (or in the background) that created cache files on your SD card. Since the stock music player pretty much pulls any compatible music/sound file on your card into the playlist, I'm betting that's the cause. Next time one comes up, see if you can view the properties of the file for its location. If not, just dig around the SD card and you should hopefully find something.

If you're thinking it's something still running in the background, check the running processes (either through the system preferences or via a task manager/killer application). Or give your phone a quick reboot.

As a very outlier, you might have some form of malware on your phone, but I highly highly doubt that if you're using the stock ROM and the normal android market.

Anywho, I bet it's just cached files from some streaming app you were running at some point in time.
