Root [Boost Mobile] Hroark's Warp Kernel Source

What are ths benifits as of right now

The benefit is that your phone will be running a super awesome kernel created by some of the best Devs on the planet!!!!

Really the kernel just makes it easier for ROMS to be developed by giving Devs a solid working source to build from. ROMS created from here on out will most likely be packaged with this kernel. As far as I know there is really no major benefit to a kernel except for it having the ability to over clock the processor. Hroark's kernel is not over clocked as of now, shinru is working on that and locking it down.

Hroark took down the versions of the source that he added shinru's original OC files to because many users were having a variety of issues. It was hard to troubleshoot because everyone is using different ROMS, or different versions of the phone software etc.

This is a growing problem I am seeing in that we essentially have 2-3 different firmwares floating around and developers putting out fires among them. I really feel for Apollo, Hroark and Shinru in that they develop ROMs (which have issues that need to be worked out by itself) and have to deal with a flurry of other issues related to the use of the wrong firmware. I think we would be better off focusing on one root firmware as opposed to chasing our tails with 2 or 3. Just sayin' :afraid:

i downloaded the only downloadable one at the beginning of this op i installed it but seems like nothing changed on my phone

the fact that nothing changed is good, it is a test kernel, to see if the kernel that we build from our source code works the same as a stock kernel

you have to make sure the basic stuff is working as it is suppose to, before you can start adding stuff to it, like OC and Swap

ok I don't know if I did this right or not but when I run setcpu it only lets me go up to 1ghz (1024mhz) max. I'm using the wp7 and have b08c and the kernel says 2.6.35.7-perf+
zte-kernel@zdroid-smt
any help would be appreciated

edit: nevermind I think I downloaded the wrong one, the test one that's basically all stock? If so which one do I need?
