Pre-pay vs single line plans

Shenanigans

I have a bit of a dilemma atm. I currently still have my UDP in use, but do not use as much data as I have in the past. I was curious if others have switched to single line plans or pre paid deals to cut their bills, and what they thought? I just feel like 130$ is a bit much for what I use with just one line.

After doing some looking around it seems like a prepaid plan would give the best bang for the buck if the service
and connectivity is the same.

Single line plans:
Monthly Access $60 ($45 with Edge) $75 ($60 with Edge)
Voice & Text Allowance
Unlimited Unlimited
Data Allowance 1 GB 2 GB
Data Overage $15/500 MB $15/1 GB

Pre-paid:
Monthly Plan Talk & Text Data
$45 /mo Unlimited talk/text/ 1 GB +.5 gb extra with auto bill pay and 10$ per 1 gb over

So 45$ prepaid for unlimited calls/texts/1 gb + (.5gb for auto bill pay)/10$ per extra gb monthly= 55$ for unlimited calls, texts, and 2.5 gb monthly plus whatever taxes and fees if I were to supply my own phone and use auto pay.

I have seen some services offer unlimited this or that, but the data usage is throttled after the first gb is used in the billing cycle, or have too many restrictions. Can someone comment on Verizon's pre paid plans or have any input?

Been with Verizon for 20+ years, so can't comment on prepaid plans.
but, they don't look that much, if any cheaper than going with the Family Share Plan which is what I finally decided I had to do when smartphones came along. I have 4 lines, all 4 are smartphones.
So, it is $60 bucks for the first one, and $40 bux more for each of the other ones.... plus all the overhead charges of course.

I also used to have UDP, but with the older phones, you just didn't spend any time on the internet, they were so crippled they were useless.

Even with the S5, I don't spend any time on the internet on DATA, or even WIFI, it is terribly inconvenient for me. I much prefer a full size keyboard so I can type at 120 wpm and look at a 24 inch monitor.

I have tried to view forums on a cellphone, and it is a PITA and I refuse to do it.
