Root [International Tegra 3] HTC One X will not enter recovery mode

Firstly Rakesh, take EarlyMon's advice above mine.

I can answer some of your questions tho:
ROM has been updated and works today using what appears to be: CM11-20150308-NIGHTLY-enrc2b
Recovery is: TEAMWIN v2.8.4.0
Bootloader is: HBOOT-1.72.000

I don't have the links where I got these from any more, but I reckon you can Google them.

Wishing you luck...

Hey Matt,
I tried this ROM CM11-20150308-NIGHTLY-enrc2b, but no success.
thsi is the error that I get when I tried Installing it through TWRP

Hi Rakesh -

I looked around and only found two people having that same error - one in the Netherlands and the other in Germany - and both resorted to an RUU to fix it.

I'm not sure that there is an RUU as late as yours and I'm suspicious if it's required because your internal sd card looks intact.

Can we verify some more information?

Hello EarlyMon,
After hardcore research on HTC One X + I have found some backups of nandroid for CID HTC__038 and some ROM. Even after trying everything I'm still not having any progress, I'm still stuck at the HTC quietly brilliant screen.

I'll tell you exactly what I did, please correct me if I'm missing something.
ROM that I found,

ViperX+_2.0.1
Elegancia_7.4.0
CM_10.2.1-enrc2b(stable)
CM_11-20150405-NIGHTLY-enrc2b

I had installed every ROM using TWRP
* installed ROM from TWRP then flashed boot.img with fastboot boot boot.IMG

Then, I tried restoring the nandroid backups that I had downloaded ( found these from XDA developers http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140 )

*Placed the files in the TWRP/BACKUP/XXXX/YYYY
*from TWRP->Restore->YYYY (nandroid backup)
* selected boot,system,data

What am I doing wrong?

Rakesh, I don't see anything wrong with your approach.

If you're lucky, there's one last FASTBOOT USB mode command to enter -

fastboot erase cache

Otherwise...

The problem I'm afraid of is showing in your getvar output showing -

partition-layout: none

That's not a good sign.

Of those with that output on your model, I found exactly one person using the steps you did and recovering.

Others have had to go with an RUU to recover from this.

Unfortunately I can't find a RUU late enough to match or update your firmware - an s-on RUU requirement.

There is one old One X trick I know of - and I know it works to restore access to corrupted access to the internal sd card so I think it's possibly your next try.

The trick is simple - find a stock recovery that either matches or is close enough to your firmware.

Fastboot flash it.

Enter stock recovery from hboot and factory data reset there (not the same as the hboot reset).

This will wipe out your internal sd card and wipe the /data partition - and if I'm right - will restore your stock partition table.

Then, flash TWRP, install the CM nightly you have from the Cyanogenmod site, flash boot.img - and that's it.

I've been looking all afternoon for an alternative - I just don't see one, and I can't guarantee that one exists.

Hi EarlyMon,
After 3 days of hard work and help from friends like you, I finally brought back my friends mobile to life. EarlyMon, I'm glad and thankful that you had replied me all the time and gave me good suggestions, Matt thanks to you too.

I'll List out the things that I did, so that it may help someone in the future,
* I installed custom recovery 'TWRP'
* Wiped Dalvik Cache, system, cache, data

(The nandroid backup step can be skipped, had to do this as there was a problem with my Partition-Layout)
* I restored the nandroid backup that I downloaded from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140
as I didn't backup my phone before flashing the wrong ROM.
* I then Installed the ROM that I downloaded through TWRP
* Flashed the boot.img through Fastboot
* Then Fastboot erase cache
* Rebooted the system and I was out of the bootloop and into CM11

Hope this helps someone!!!
Regards,
Rakesh
