Help Samsung galaxy s4 battery draining to quick

I just recently got a phone, I wanted to go easy at first so I got a galaxy s4 and I started getting some problems with the battery, when I use the phone every 2, 3 minutes or so 1 percent of battery drops I looked into settings and it says that the system screen is using 40% and it says 3 hours of onscreen time next is android system using 20% and says could total 1 hour I find myself constantly changing the phone, maybe 3 or 4 times a day, without hardly using it I really need urgent help, I'm not even sure if it's the battery

Is it new or second hand? If used then the battery could just be old.

But statistics about dropping with a few minutes' use don't tell us much, as that can be quite normal. How long does it last in total per charge, and how much time with the screen on? That will tell us whether it's in the normal range or not?

Bear in mind that the screen will be the biggest drain on any phone. If you turn the brightness up it will use more power. With AMOLED screens like Samsung use white backgrounds and images use a lot more power than dark (for black it turns the little leds off, for white it has to turn them all on). So there are a lot of variables here.

But to put it into perspective, 4-5 hours screen on would be in the normal range.

Look, the thing is, you're looking at it wrong. The screen and OS will always be the top users of the battery in normal situations. Even when your phone lasted 30hrs on a charge, the screen and OS would still normally place at the top. I mean, whenever you use the phone, the screen and OS is always running. The battery used up by using a game for example is listed in battery usage as the game, yes, but during playing the game the screen is also on, so that adds to the screen statistic.

It would be better to show us the screen before the ones you show, where all the apps that used the battery time is seen.
