You didn't give people very long on a Sunday morning before bumping.

What is this "dark shade"? The wallpaper being sized wrong, or is it a fuzzy dark (fading quickly as you move down)? If so it is probably a status bar with a transparency gradient and nothing to do with the wallpaper.

Bottom line: more information needed to be sure what it is.

@lvt, then why when i change my wallpapers to a default wallpaper there is no blured area?

Good question, can you locate the default wallpaper (seen in your last post above), save to another location under different file name and use this image file as your wallpaper ?

If you get no blurred wallpaper, your previous images might have the incorrect dimensions (width, height).

If you still get blurred walpaper, I will do some tests with a S4 and will post the result ASAP.

Yes, I don't know why you don't have it with the default wallpaper, but that is definitely a standard KitKat transparent gradient status bar.

My Samsung tablet does that with the stock wallpapers too (though not on the lock screen for some reason). Nova launcher lets me choose between that and a solid black status bar, the Samsung launcher doesn't offer the choice.

So I think the only mystery is why it doesn't do that with one stock wallpaper. I don't think it's any problem with your wallpapers or the system software. You might however find another launcher app that lets you change this (i.e. set the notification bar to be completely transparent rather than gradient).

I just make a test with a Samsung S4 which is very similar to yours, I always get the wallpaper with the top lightly blurred. I even made a special wallpaper in white color for the test (see attached image).

So I'd say that it's on the software of Samsung phones, you should try to swap back and forth between live wallpaper and static wallpaper to see what could be done.
