All of a sudden I have a huge list of "Unnamed" contacts in People. They're at the top of the list and there must be almost a hundred of them, they're all the same, grayed out profile picture, when you click on any of them there are no details. If I press delete from the menu button they don't appear, so I can't get rid of them. Any ideas?

You've probably got your phone set to automatically save callers as they call or are dialled. You may need to log in to your account online to delete them.
Hi thanks for that. I checked my Gmail account and these pesky contacts aren't there so I can't delete them. You were right about the phone set to automatically save callers, although this is obviously the default setting as I never checked it since I had the phone (3 months). What's strange is that all these contacts have appeared all of a sudden. The frustrating thing is that there doesn't seem to be a way to delete them. Email to HTC support next, though I'm not holding my breath...

I rang HTC customer support today and although I was very impressed with them (UK based, friendly and helpful) they were unable to come up with a solution and were completely baffled as to why this happened and put it down to a software glitch. In the end the only way out was a factory reset, which is what I did. Bit of a pain, but it worked. I now have the "Save to contacts" box under call sttings unchecked, just in case...

Hi, Happened to me the other day too. My phone battery was low and I asked a bar to recharge it while I had a drink or two and it came back with so many unnamed contacts under People which I can't delete and which don't appear on my gmail contacts list. Will have to do factory settings but am unhappy with having to do that. However, would like to know why it happened so I can avoid it in future.

If the bar plugged it into a computer it has probally tried to Sync with your device, which was unreconised and then caused problems.

Or maybe your problem is down to how many drinks you ate while at the bar?
