Help Problem swiping to answer Droid phone calls

It's very annoying and I have missed calls. And it's very clearly a different algorithm than Android uses to recognize other swipes elsewhere, for example, Launcher's "always ignore the first two swipes unless the CPU usage has been 0% for the past 5 minutes :mad:

Found a solution that worked for me:

Goto Settings > Call Settings > All Calls > Answering Call

Check "Answering mode" and "Answering key", now anytime I get a call I still get the swipe but a simple press of the home button and the call is answered! Sorted... This was on a Samsung Apollo i5800, with Android 2.1 - also tried and tested it on a Samsung Galaxy S with Android 2.2.

I know the text under "Answering key" says that the phone call will be answered by pressing any key, but only the home button works for me but I would prefer it that way!

Unfortunately the Moto Droid does not have an answering call selection I've been able to find.

OP -- I've had some issues with the right side of my screen (i.e. i broke it), and currently I can only answer my phone by using my bluetooth. Unfortunately, I'm unsure how to assist you with making it read a slow, steady swipe across the screen.

I just got the LG optimus F3, my very first smart phone. I'm having the same problem answering calls when I "swipe".
It's quite frustrating!
I have model #LGms659. Are there any new solutions?

I have solved my android turbo phone answering that used to occur when the phone was asleep. I was not able to answer the phone when I swiped up or to the side it gave me a choice of 5 things I would choose (none of which was answer the phone). I went into display and acitvated the ambient display (which wakes up the phone) when notification are received and now I have the choice to dismiss or answer the call. No more issues with not being able to receive and accept phone calls.

When i make a call and it goes to voicemail, i try to hang up and it wont let me. Anybody please have any advice?

What phone are you suing? (Something like Droid Bionic or Droid Maxx or Droid Razr Maxx HD.)

quick fix
download a full page caller ID app. This will eliminate the swipe. Just press the green dot or icon to answer.

Possible fix here:
Hey guys, my phone started having the same issue (zenfone 2 laser), sometimes no matter how I swipe it, you could see the bar being swiped, but it didn't answer the call.
So I got into system recovery and wiped cache partition (you don't loose data) and I've answered 4 consecutive calls with no issue, hope this is a permanent fix for my case and hopefully for many of you guys too.
Warning: be careful when doing this, do not mistake wipe cache with wipe data/factory reset

I have a friend who has the same phone as me and his was having the problem and mine wasn't. I went into SETTINGS on his and disabled his PHONE app and then enabled it. It works now.

I have had my Asus phone for a couple of years. I don't get a lot of calls but when I do I have difficulty answering them. LOL and I see most of these posts are from 2009 or 2010. Obviously they have not improved on this!! I will try the slower complete swipe to see if it works. I changed to fingerprint but find it doesn't work either. Actually when I was using my bluetooth HS was the only time I could answer without a problem. AND I lost the headset!!

From a long time ago, and one particular phone, the original Motorola Droid. FWIW I've not read anyone else reporting problems answering calls with Asus phones. Have you tried restarting or even resetting it, just in case it's only acting funky?

Thank you. With this information I was able to answer the phone when it rings and I am supposed to swipe.

If it was a button call, one that you should just tap, it wasn't that easy. I had to move the tap more into the middle of the screen.

Really and truly they need to fix this. I use the phone for doing social media more than anything else, but I would like to be able to answer the dam phone. LOL and I have another issue that I must address, and that is that the phone doesn't ring every time! Sometimes I know I haven't made any changes, but the phone decides not to ring.

I don't know what phone you have (this thread was originally about a particular Motorola phone from 2010), but if hundreds of millions of people are able to answer calls it's hard to argue that there's something "they really need to fix". And did it not say "swipe to answer"? Most do.

As for not ringing, are you sure you don't have anything that silences it at certain times - do not disturb settings, something that silences it during appointments? Or haven't accidentally (and unknowingly) pressed the volume key?
