2nd X going on 3rd

    So I got my first DX last week. After about a day or so when making or getting calls in, when I hit send the phone rebooted. So called VZ and they had a replacement to me the next day. The 2nd DX has lines going acrossed the bottom of the screen. Once again had to call the amazing VZ. My 3rd DX will be here by the 1st. I love the phone so I hope we have a winner on this one. Here is a pic of the issue.

    Sorry to hear that - I love my X - So far I have been lucky - Although to have a decent, phone shouldn't be luck...

    Thanks, I love it as well. I also noticed that when I turn the screen off with the top button the notification lights blink as well.

    Waiting on my third. Just dead pixel issues with mine. Love the phone so far.

    I am on my second for rebooting and I am waiting for 2.2 to arrive I was promised by Verizon that the patches for this issue and others were in the fryo update coming before the end of September. But for the last week my phone has been working great no reboots !

    Has anyone tried loading the SBF file onto their malfunctioning phone?

    Not, of course, that one should have to undergo such a process on their brand new phone and exchanging it should certainly be an option, I was just thinking that people who didn't want to wait for new phones might be able to fix their issues if they are software problems and not hardware problems.

    Almost seems like a rite of passage. I'm on my 2nd DX cause my first one had the same problem as described by the OP. Now everything is running like a dream!

    VZW replacement service is pretty gosh-darn quick IMHO. I got my replacement in 2 days of placing the service call to my tech.

    My replacement shipped out today, Fed Ex says it will be here on the 1st

    Rebooting could be caused by a rogue installed program, or a launcher replacement, do a factory reset, or reflash it with rsd

    I also have a rebooting problem and I'm waiting on my replacment. I did a factory reset but I have to say the first app I install is launcher pro. Has anyone hadd issues with this app and nailed it as the cause of thier reboots?

    I tried a factory reset, but that did not help. Also there were no apps on the device when the problem started

    I'm waiting for my third phone too. The first one had screen flickering and banding, and the second one constantly reboots. If the third isn't perfect, it'll get replaced too.

    If the third doesn't function properly, I might think about moving on to a different device. Fingers crossed.

    My wife is on her second X. Her first had menu button problems and then would not boot up. Hope she has better luck with the second one. The first one only lasted about a month.

    How did they send yours out so fast? VZW gave me a hard time just to get a replacement and they said they'll ship by the 7th. They placed an order for me a week and a half ago.

    for those having rebooting issues, are you all running ATK? If so, please remove ATK immediately. Nobody should be running task killers.

    well, jus got my second X. first one the earpiece blew...no sound whatsever. second X has a good working ear piece. ....however now I got 4 dead pixels running camera and camcorder. imma try jscreenfix. if that don't work...then off to number 3 for me.



    *update*
    jscreenfix didn't work. oh well. onto my third.

    im actually on my third, i dumped task killer but i still get screen freeze ups after i don't use the phone for about 30 min. i've had lots of issues, this one the "back" button is jammed in and it came like that.

    I was wondering about the software problems. Has anyone of you tried re-flashing the firmware instead of exchanging the phone?

    Keep ATK but disable auto-kill in settings. Sometimes ATK comes useful if app not responding or when one app triggers a start of a dozen other apps, but by default periodic auto-kill is enabled which causes all sorts of problems including reboots.

    Well the third X came this morning. Not a refurb like the las replacement. Yhis one came in a plain white box With the stickers on the screen and lenz like the first one did out of the box. Works like a charm. I'm happy
