android 2.2.1 conecting to Jawbone era

i recently purchased a jawbone era to pair with my samsung intercept on droid 2.2.1. the phone will recognize the era but will never connect. i tried connecting the era to my iphone and and paired properly. any suggestions on how to get the samsung/droid and era to connect?
