I think it means released in 2010, not built in 2010. That wouldn't make any sense that an Eris built in 2010 would get 2.2, but one built in 2009 wouldn't.

I guess haha, but hopefully someone will be able to port it if we don't get it!

Not necessarily, they don't outright say ONLY those released on 2010 will get it, but It could mean older devices may/may not get it. So don't count them out yet until we hear from the carriers and phone manufacturers.

Yeah, that would be really odd though. Because that would mean the regular Droid wouldn't get it either, since it was released the same time as the Eris.
