10000 things to know - great little "fact of the day" app
3banana - nice note taking app
aCurrency - nice little currency rate app, it now takes me seconds to watch the pound bounce up and down against the euro
Astrid - a painful reminder of all the things I meant to do a month ago
BatteryLeft - nice app to estimate remaining battery time
UrbanDictionary - so I can keep up with the yoofspeek. innit.
Wordoftheday - since matriculating on wordoftheday, erm my words is better
Network Widget - handy way to see what network you are on

3G watchdog - keep track of my remaining download limits
Antennas - good app to see how cloe you are to the local mobile antenna and how sometimes to get closer for better reception
AppBrain - nice app recommendations
ASBOremeter - how many crack houses have been busted in your area?
ASTRO - best file manager
Backgrounds - nice collection of wallpapers
Barcode scanner - how else will you read those app barcodes?
Earth - Google Earth on a phone!
Maps - Google StreetView on a phone!
Fring - for skype
Goggles - clever but US centric
NewsRoom- best RSS app IMO
OI Shopping List - if you see a chap in Sainsburys reading his list from a Desire, it might be me
WiFiAnalyzer - has helped me solve literally 6 or 7 wireless issues
Qype - handy when camping, visiting,walking
Shazam - no more do I spend months wondering what that music was on that ad
Sudoko Free - something to do on the train
The Schwarz Unleashed - vOOOoooooom
TV Guide - see whats on the telly on the homewards commute
LondonTube - still need it
TrainTimes - better than the official app by miles, in that it doesn't crash every 4 seconds
Layar - just wow. But no I'm not paying for layArs

Cribbage Pro - I <3 Cribbage
Traffic Jam - nice puzzle games with cars
Xpectroid - Speccie > C64!

Juice defender is the best app I've used for this phone. Along with juice plotter, its easy to become obsessed with it.

So,
Juice defender: Gives you control over the times your APN/WiFi switches on and off, which saves tons of battery. EG; On mine, when the screen is on standby, it closes the connections and checks it for one minute every 15 minutes to check twitter updates, emails etc. When charging, it stays on, between 11:30pm and 8:00am, it keeps the connection closed, and automatically comes back on.
You can customise it to suit your own preferences, these are just some of mine.

Juice Plotter: A simple graph showing the status of your battery through out the day, showing a pretty accurate percentage of where its at. You download it from Juice Defender once you've got it
