Archos media players

I'm in the market again for a portable media player. I've had ipods for about 6 years and while i've always been happy with them, i am reluctant to get one of the new breed for 2 reasons. 1) I'm still using a pre OSX 10.5 mac (if it aint broke don't fix it!) and 2) I'm desperately trying to shake off the shackles of the itunes world.
