So i'd like to root my htc one i think because of all the little things 4.2.2 has that 4.1.2 doesnt. Anyone know when they'll be coming out with it? i kinda dont wanna root because it will void my warranty and this is my 2nd htc one because i dropped my first one :(....now im not sure if i have a new htc one or a refurbished model...im guessing refurbished is what they sent me...so i just dont know how to unlock bootloader, root, and all that stuff. if anyone has any advice, tips, or links for this i'd appriciate it. i updated my nexus 7 manually once and it went fine. i just dont wanna brick my phone or have something go wrong with it and i cant return it cause i rooted it :/. let me know! thanks again.

if you are carrying a 3rd party insurance,it doesnt really matter if you are rooted or not. as long as youve paid the premiums and deductible they could care less. if you go a step further than htcdev unlocking, and s off, then all visual traces of having rooted/unlocked can be removed.

nothing wrong with not rooting. the one is slated to recieve 4.2,tho unfortunately none of can say when :(

be aware that rooting will mean for the most part that you can no longer recieve OTAs,so whenever updates occur, you will need to update the phone manually by installing the new firmware package, then flashing an updated rom in recovery.
