Help auto scroll

How do you turn off the auto scroll feature. When I read emails or scroll contacts i have a way of bumping my arm or breathing to heavy and it takes off back up to the top.

Are you on the 4.1.2 update or what version of the Galaxy S3 do you have.?
The reason I ask is, and I'm not sure if this is a feature in the 4.1.2 update, but is there a setting in motions that enable a "double tap to top"?

The double tap thing was in ICS bro.. i found it useless though.

Well, my wife has the Note 2 on JB and hers has the double tap to top thing.
Personally, I think a quick screen flick works the same but......

And I think you are correct about the tilt/auto scroll is on the S4

Yeah it stayed in JB as far as i know. I think it would only be useful if it worked in web browsers tbh

Auto Scroll may not be the right term, but it's were I bump my arm and the screen goes back to the top of my 700 plus contacts and pisses me off

Or if I'm reading a document/email and it goes flying back to the top.

I feel like I tried them all, only thing not tried is turning the whole motion thing off.

Yup, if I bump my arm on the arm rest i lost my spot.

The only setting that will cause this behaviour is in Settings > Motion > Double tap to top. So if you disable that your phone shouldn't automatically jump to the yop of a list, email or web page if you accidentally bump the phone.

It does sound like tap to top but far as i know, that only works in email?

Hi, I'm having the same problem except on my Samsung Note II I don't have to bump my phone, it just scrolls up to the top automatically. I've tried everything, and that setting to turn off double tap is turned off and I tried turning it on and back off, but nothing helps. I also tried turning off that little eye icon at the top of the screen (stay on as long as you're looking at the screen), but that did not help either. I tried turning off AllShare, since I saw somewhere that may be the culprit, but that did not help either. Finally, I tried calling Samsung, but they didn't know how to help and told me to call back tomorrow and request the "remote" assistance department. I'm very computer/phone/tablet savvy and know my way around the menus, but I give. If anyone has any other recommendations, PLEASE reply. Thanks!

I had this problem for awhile, and I know it sounds off, but try disabling the motion>shake to update setting.
