Help Automatic brightness problem with 4.3

I have a high capacity battery, and like to keep my display as bright as possible all the time. To do this I disable Automatic Brightness in the display menu. However, after upgrading to 4.3, I can't keep Automatic Brightness disabled very long. It very frequently turns itself back on.
Does anyone know how to keep Automatic Brightness disabled?

You could try a 3rd party brightness manager, like Lux. That might give you what you need in a different way.

No issues here, 4.3 runs like butter for me.

Don't know why, but suddenly it started working properly. Even better than it did before I upgraded, when the automatic brightness feature would always kick in later in the evening.
