A few days ago I installed a task killer App and the next day I noticed that my data usage increased dramatically (about 0.5 GB/day). until then, my total usage has been about 0.05GB per month. I removed the App and do not remember what it was called, but my phone is still using about 0.5 GB per day. The only thing I do during the day is check stock quotes once in a while. Any suggestions on why this is happening and what I can do to find out what data is being transferred and how I can stop it?

Thanks

Welcome to the forums!

You don't need to use a task killer on Android... it can be harmful to your battery life - if you want more info on the reasons why you don't need to use one, then check here

As for why your phone is using so much data... how often do you have your phone set to sync? You can turn off background data all together - this should help reduce data usage.

There are also apps like 3g Watchdog that can help you with that... I have linked the free version, but there are also a couple of paid versions that give more options.

Hope this helps a little!
