I realize I've been talking about this for a long time now, you know, "oh hey there's better kernel source out there, and some day I'm going to get us running on it!"

And every now and then I'd have a new development, but mostly I was just pounding my head against the wall. It's become this

But the time of delivery is upon us! PhenomX4 got new ROMs working on the warplte and released his device tree, and I've been able to take essentials from that along with the HTC One M4 and the Nexus 4 device trees to cobble this ROM together. The kernel is from the Boost Max source that SuperR inspired me to start working with. So, HUGE THANKS to PhenomX4 and SuperR.

Why do I care so much about the new kernel? It's based off of CAF. KK_2.7_rb1.28 to be more precise, with https://www.codeaurora.org/cgit/qui...31b9060c52088b4cb6f44b56&h=LA.AF.1.1.1_rb1.17 as the last commit. We should be able to add all CAF commits from that point on and get a fully up-to-date kernel as a result. But that's a project for later

SMS/MMS: can't send using the stock messaging app. Use any other.
Keyboard: language files are missing for gesture typing. I recommend Google Keyboard for now.

One last thanks to roadkill42 for graciously testing super-secret builds for me.

And I have a humble request: I need help getting the GPS running. From using GPS Status I can tell that it's not looking for satellites at all. If I replace the GPS libraries with those from the Nexus 4 4.4.4 I can get it to momentarily try to get satellites, but it quickly stops, and additionally breaks the camera. I'm guessing it's a matter of finding the right combination of libraries? The ones of concern seem to be gps.msm8960.so, libgps.utils.so, libgeofence.so, libloc_eng.so, libloc_ds_api.so, libloc_core.so, libloc_api_v02.so, and libizat_core.so. I'm not finding much from doing logcat either.

Since this is now common kernel code, I'll be making versions for the warp, since presumably if it boots on the Awe there should be very little that can break the Warp. Saves me from having to get a development phone Little incentive otherwise, I'm grandfathered and I have a Force on Freedompop for my LTE needs. Besides, PhenomX4 is doing great things over there.

Nice yea he's doing it big for the warp there is like a grand father on boost I pay 33bucks a month for unlimited text call 2 gigs of lte speeds till it slows down to 2g have to use a visa card tho for that offer autopsy I haven't had any issues with boost over charging me there a wsrplte on Amazon for 45 bucks new just damaged box by skeeters

I left for T-Mobile ($120 / mo for the family) but I still play around with my Awe. I'll load the ROM after I finish getting everything I need off the phone and it should be just fine for me w/o GPS.

One thought I have on the GPS that I'll throw out there is that I wonder if the issue is the modem, and maybe using the modem from the warp will fix this

Anyways, I ported SuperR's stock kitkat to the Awe, the only flaw in it is that there's some permissions issue with the internal storage that I can't sort out. Since all the sensors work it's made a great reference. Here's my latest porting try as a reference.

Sorta spur of the moment here but Ringplus just had an amazing deal that ends ~now. I activated my old elite on it but I'm likely jumping ship to another phone. We'll see how long I keep the Awe around... My apologies, things were about to get going for me here again. *sigh*

Yeah I didn't bother with getting the wifi module working due to the storage issue, kinda gimps the phone. It's only good for troubleshooting until I can figure out the storage.

What kernel are u using kk???

Same kernel as this CM11. If you're thinking what I think you're thinking, you'll want to replace boot with the CM11 boot to make sure the module lines up. Also need to copy the 3 config files, I replaced prima.
