calendar running twice ... ?

I was looking for a more robust Calendar app that came stock on my LG Optimus, and I found one: the Calendar Pad app. Thanks to the person here that suggested it for me.

I notice that I still have the stock Calendar app running, though, as well as something called Calendar Storage. This is in addition to the Calendar Pad app.

I don't have any calendar widgets on.

Do I have to have this running? Is there a way to prevent it from starting on boot? (I rebooted my phone last night)
