can i use any cdma phone with straight talk? if not, how?

I'm interested in getting a better phone. I'm. Currently useing straight talk wireless. Can I use any unlocked or wat ever u call it female phone? If so or not cansome one plz explain to me wat type of phone I need to look for etc... thx

With straight talk, as far as CDMA phones go, you can only use the ones they offer for sale. For gsm phones, you can use any one you want as long as it's frequencies are compatible with with AT&T or t-mobile's network.

Straight Talk is expected to launch a BYOP (Bring Your Own Phone) program for CDMA phones soon, using Verizon's network, and a limited set of compatible phones (none of which support LTE).

I'll also point out that recently Straight Talk stopped offering AT&T compatible SIMs, and new customers on their BYOP program were limited to T-Mobile SIMs only. This may have changed, or may change soon, but I would recommend checking the current status of this situation before spending money on a phone you think will be compatible.

If you want to stick with CDMA, Page Plus works on Verizon's network, and they'll activate virtually any Verizon phone that doesn't support LTE.

Page Plus will work with a StarTAC. That is how good they are. Used to use them back in my 'i will never use a cell for anything other than calls' phase, and they were the only MVNO who supported my old Nokia 5185i
