Cannot connect to some IRC servers

I'm trying to use AndroidIRC to connect to a few servers that I like hang out in, namely Sorcery. I can connect to Freenode with no problem on port 6667 but no matter which port I try with Sorcery.net I cannot connect at all.

Anyone else have this problem on 3G? I seem to remember someone being able to connect somehow without using WiFi.

EDIT: Nevermind, just found out it's a Verizon thing and I've sent an email to Verizon about it. If I can't get a resolution through normal channels I smell an EECB on the horizon

Almost a year later, and I'm still not able to connect through my PC using 3G network. Anybody else have a workaround for this? Verizon is def blocking.
