Computer / Droid hookup question

I have a question for you pros out there. Please understand this technology is for the most part over my head (70yrs old ). I have a dell Laptop that does have wireless abilities but I have not purchased the key to use the internet away from home. BUT now I have a Droid. Can I use the Droid to get internet away from home? If so how do I do that and what would I need. I really appreciate your help in advance. Skeeter

You can use your phone to thether internet to your computer. Some carriers allow this as part of the data plan while others will require you to purchase an additional data plan for this ability. What carrier are you currently on?
